Detroit man Jarvis Ramon Butts is facing homicide and sexual assault charges in connection with missing teen Na'Ziyah Harris, prosecutors announced.

Jarvis Butts was charged with first-degree premeditated murder of Na'Ziyah Harris and second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Jarvis Butts, 41, was charged with first-degree premeditated murder, second-degree criminal sexual conduct, and child sexually abusive material for the murder of 13-year-old Na'Ziyah Harris.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office will provide an update Thursday morning on the case of Na'Ziyah Harris, who has been missing since January.

Jarvis Butts of Highland Park was remanded to prison on charges of murder and first-degree sexual assault in the case of the missing 13-year-old Na'Ziyah Harris, as well as the assault of two other children stretching back to 2012.

Jarvis Butts made his first appearance in court after the Wayne County Prosecutor charged him with criminal sexual conduct in three separate cases. That includes the disappearance of Na'Ziyah Harris,

Jarvis Butts, 41, of Detroit, was charged with first-degree premeditated murder, second-degree criminal sexual conduct and child sexually abusive activity. Butts was arraigned Friday afternoon and remanded to jail.

Jarvis Butts, the man accused of sexually assaulting and murdering Na'Ziyah Harris, is expected to face a judge on Friday for that crime and two unrelated sexual assault cases.
