Death Stranding 2 is the continuation of Komija's Death Stranding franchise, bringing back a familiar face in Sam Porter (played by Norman Reedus). The release looks to continue the story surrounding the courier and the many dangers the Chiral Network faces.

Speaking during his latest event appearance, Hideo Kojima reveals that Death Stranding 2: On The Beach already has a release date.

According to Eurogamer, Hideo Kojima has stated that he is aware of the release date for Death Stranding 2; however, "unforeseen circumstances" are keeping him from revealing it. During the Tokyo Game Show,

Many expected the Death Stranding 2 release date’s reveal at Tokyo Game Show this year. While a date wasn’t announced, director Hideo Kojima reassured fans the upcoming sequel has a set date that will be revealed next year.

A brand-new actor from one of Hideo Kojima's favorite anime series of 2022 will appear in the anticipated PS5 release of Death Stranding 2.

During Tokyo Game Show 2024, Hideo Kojima shared an extensive update on Death Stranding 2, revealing that there's still a lot of work to do but that it's still on pace for 2025.

On the Beach' is confirmed to launch at some point next year, Hideo Kojima cannot give a more specific release date "due to unforeseen circumstances".
