Badgers Running Back Chez Mellusi To Step Away From Program Due To Injury Concerns
With 232 running yards through four games in 2024, Mellusi led Wisconsin in rushing yards. Next with 153 yards is Cade Yacamelli, followed by Tawee Walker with 147. Walker will likely take over the starting running back job while Yacamelli is expected to serve as his primary backup.
Chez Mellusi to step away from Wisconsin football indefinitely, per reports
Mellusi played in each of the Badgers' first four games this season but reportedly elected to step away as lingering injuries prevented him from playing up to his expectations. He tallied 56 carries for 232 yards and three touchdowns as Wisconsin opened the campaign with a 2-2 start, and he tacked on six receptions for 17 yards.
The computer model does like Wisconsin's chances against Rutgers, Penn State, Iowa, Oregon, Nebraska or Minnesota.
