The events of The Penguin start on November 13, 2022, a week after the election night catastrophe of The Batman. That much is confirmed by Alberto Falcone’s grave plate in Episode 2, “Inside Man,” which means the November 18th date of this mysterious new drug shipment isn’t far off.

The Penguin charts the rise of Oz Cobb, AKA the Penguin, in Gotham's criminal underworld after the death of kingpin Carmine Falcone in The Batman – and he's up against Carmine's own flesh and blood in the form of his daughter Sofia (Cristin Milioti), fresh out of Arkham Asylum.

The Penguin Episode 2 properly introduces us to Sofia’s therapist, Dr Julian Rush – and there may be more to him than meets the eye.
