Republican U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert has won in a House district in Colorado where she moved midway through the election cycle to avoid what would have been a tough reelection bid in her old district.

Rep. Lauren Boebert, the polarizing congresswoman from Colorado, won a House seat in a new district after opting to seek reelection in a more firmly Republican area. She defeated Democratic nominee Trisha Calvarese, a former speechwriter for the AFL-CIO.

Boebert, a rabble-rouser who’s helped define an ultra-conservative flank of the U.S. House, took a gamble in moving races, and it paid off.

If that margin doesn’t change significantly as more votes are counted, it’s a narrower victory than Buck enjoyed in his last race; he won by 25 points in 2022. The 4th district is Colorado’s most Republican congressional seat.
